Rectangular structural steel pipes are primarily welded pipes. Rectangle structural pipe is often built of welded pipe, is easy to cut and shape, and can be used in a variety of structures. Steel rectangular pipe is commonly used in industrial maintenance, agricultural tools, transportation equipment, trailers, and frames, among other applications. Compared to square steel tubes, its rectangle structure provides superior strength and stiffness. We can provide 2 x 3, 2 x 4, and 2 x 6 rectangular steel pipes in accordance with ASTM A513 or A500 B.

Production process

Raw material preparation: Select stainless steel billets that meet the standard requirements. Common stainless steel grades include 304, 316, 321, etc. The chemical composition and performance of different grades are different. They can be selected according to the specific use environment and requirements.

Forming process:

Cold drawing: The billet is cold drawn through a die to gradually change its cross-sectional shape into a rectangle. This method has high production efficiency and good dimensional accuracy, but it has high requirements for the mold and limited deformation.

Hot rolling: The billet is heated to a high temperature state and then rolled through a rolling mill to form a rectangular cross-section. Hot rolling can produce larger rectangular tubes and improve the internal structure of the material and its mechanical properties, but the surface quality is slightly worse than cold drawing.

Welding process: For rectangular stainless steel tubes welded by plate welding, welding operations are required. Commonly used welding methods include tungsten inert gas welding (TIG), metal inert gas shielded welding (MIG), etc. During the welding process, the welding parameters need to be strictly controlled to ensure the quality of the weld and avoid welding defects such as pores and cracks.

Surface treatment: In order to improve the corrosion resistance and appearance quality of rectangular stainless steel pipes, surface treatments such as pickling, passivation, polishing, etc. are usually performed. Pickling can remove the oxide scale and impurities on the surface, passivation can form a dense oxide film on the surface to improve corrosion resistance, and polishing can make the surface smoother and brighter to achieve different decorative effects.
