Product details

Introduction

Shipbuilding steel plates refer to carbon and alloy steel plates used for offshore and marine construction, common grades are A, B, D, E, AH32/36/40, DH32/36/40 and EH32/36/40, with different strengths. These steel plates are usually used to make hulls, bulkheads, upper decks and hatch covers of tankers, bulk carriers, container ships and LNG carriers. For high-strength shipbuilding steel plates, such as AH36, DH36, EH36 steel plates, they are widely used in high stress areas of ships, compared with general strength steel, they provide the same strength with smaller thickness.

Our Services

We can provide professional steel, Shipbuilding steel plate such as bridge steel, ship steel, boiler steel, pressure vessel steel, agricultural machinery steel, etc.

Our products have ASTM, BV DIN, ISO, EN, JIS, GB and other standards. Various materials welcome to inquire.

We have an inventory of 60000+ tons, which can be delivered quickly and also support custom size production.

We also sell wear-resisting steel plate, spring steel plate, other alloy steel plate, details can see other product pages or email to consult us.

Advantages

High-strength materials

Marine Steel Plates use a variety of high-strength materials, such as A36, S235JR and A516, to ensure that ships can withstand the tremendous pressure of the marine environment. A36 is often used in hull structures, and A516 is mainly used for pressure vessels, with good pressure resistance; S235JR, after treatment, has good corrosion resistance and can effectively resist salt water corrosion in the marine environment.

Corrosion resistance

Alloy elements (such as chromium, nickel and manganese) are added to Marine Steel Plates during the manufacturing process, which improves the corrosion resistance of steel; ship steel plates are sprayed, hot-dip galvanized or other protective treatments to form a protective layer, which reduces the contact of metal with moisture and oxygen and reduces the risk of corrosion; ship steel plates meet international standards such as ASTM and DIN, which specify the corrosion resistance of materials to ensure safe use in marine environments.

Good welding performance

Before welding, the surface of the Marine Steel Plate will be cleaned to remove the oxide layer and dirt to ensure good contact during welding; marine steel plates are made of highly weldable materials and can adapt to a variety of welding methods (such as arc welding, gas shielded welding, etc.), making the welding process easier; low to medium carbon content makes the steel plate less prone to cracking or deformation during welding, which is conducive to improving welding reliability; after welding, the marine steel plate is heat treated to eliminate stress during welding and improve the performance of the welded joint.

Customizable

The length (1m-12m), width (0.6m-4m) and thickness (0.1mm-300mm) can be customized according to demand to meet different design requirements. Surface treatments such as cleaning, sandblasting and painting are provided according to customer requirements to improve protective performance.

Comply with international standards

Our Marine Steel Plates comply with many international standards such as ASTM, DIN, ISO, etc. to ensure product quality and safety. With CE, ROHS, ISO, SGS and other certifications, ensure that the products meet international quality standards.

Multi-purpose applications

Not only can it be used in shipbuilding, but it is also widely used in railways, bridges and construction projects to manufacture metal components that bear static loads.

Uses Of Steel In Shipbuilding

Modern shipbuilding steel plate is well suited for the manufacturing of boats, ships, marine vessels, and other structures, as it is light in weight, high in tensile strength, and better in corrosion resistance than any other traditional shipbuilding steel plate, making it much better for more efficient construction. Most of the offshore and marine structures are created using carbon and alloy steel plates. Ship hulls, upper decks, bulkheads, anchor chains, bulk carriers, as well as container ships all rely on the material properties of these shipbuilding steels.
